Frankincense resin. Boswellia spp is traditionally used for reducing inflammation naturally. It is non toxic and well tolerated by most people. Boswellic acid is found naturally in frankincense resin. For this Frankincense Ointment the resin has been macerated in oil to extract the boswellic acid. Steam distilled frankincense essential oil does not have boswellic acid and therefore not the same anti-inflammatory profile.
